Spring Break on the Bluff: Smokehouse

Hallo, Frühling! Spring is in the air at Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill, and what better way to celebrate a break from school than outdoors at the sites! Come up to the Bluff from March 11-19 and take part in one of our many crafts and activities. Each day will include a different educational activity.

Smokehouse: The Kreische family smokehouse was an important structure for smoking and storing meat for the family in the mid to late 1800s, and thanks to Heinrich's expert stone masonry, it is still in great shape today.

Learn more about 19th century methods and techniques from our living historians, and purchase a link or two to take home. Tours of the house and brewery will also be offered.
