Ice Ice Baby!

  • 2 Aug 2025
  • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • 414 State Loop 92 La Grange, TX

The widespread availability of ice in the late 19th century changed American foodways, allowing fresh meats, fruit, desserts, and beer to safely reach Texas communities quicker and from farther away. The increased existence of ice houses and the invention of artificial refrigeration for ice storage were two major innovations for the ice industry.

Come stay cool in the August heat with this program all about ICE! Practice using historic tools for chipping ice or making ice cream, learn how technology revolutionized the ice industry & try your hand at an ice-based recipe.
