Historical Demonstrations at the Kreische House

Join living historians in their art of conveying the past! Activities at the Kreische House include 19th century bowling, barrel-making, bullet-shaping, early photography, sauerkraut making and butter churning, sausage smoking, and more.

Brewery Tours

Explore the ruins of the 19th century brewery of German immigrant H.L. Kreische. At its peak in 1878, Kreische's brewery was the 3rd largest Texas brewery in operation, and these ruins convey the ingenuity and skill of this stonemason and brewer. Join our docents and walk within the ruins to the fully intact cellar and more.
