Kreische Barn Stage Presentations and Performances

Zach Novak

Join local musical extraordinaire Zach Novak for festive tunes played on the digital accordion.

Dr. Margo Blevins, Postdoc Researcher at UT Austin

The Texas German Dialect Project (tgdp.org) is devoted to the preservation of Texas German dialects. This presentation is an introduction to the projectwhy it was founded, what it has done, and some of its current projects. 

Jeremy Banas, Beer Historian & Author

This presentation will discuss the history of the first Lone Star brewery, as well as the Sabinas brewery that later changed its name to Lone Star, and how that ties into San Antonio area beer history.


Travis Bailey, Texas Craft Brewers Guild & 

Kent Killough, Vista Brewing

This presentation will reveal the journey from field to pint by analyzing the relationship between agriculture and beer and sharing the myriad ways in which Texas breweries support sustainability.

Tours


Join one of our knowledgeable guides for a tour of Kreische's brewery ruins. Learn about Kreische's brewery process and ingenious architecture, and enter the vaulted cellar room. Tours will depart every half hour from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Exhibits

Visitors Center and Museum Store

The Visitors Center will be open throughout the festival. Peruse our historic exhibits and see artifacts from the excavation of the brewery ruins or grab some Kreische Brewery or German-themed merch in Museum Store.

Kreische Historic House

Step back into the past by touring the 19th-century Kreische dwelling. Observe living historians in action with cooking, smokehouse, coopering, & other historic demonstrations.

Targets and Tradition: Pop Up Exhibit

Spot our interpretive panels on the trails and read up on the historic origins of our modern SchuetzenFest.
